Barbara Harbach Presents Women Composers for the Organ Recital

Barbara Harbach will perform a special Women Composers for the Organ recital on Sunday, April 25 – 3:30 PM at St. Ita’s Roman Catholic Church, 5500 North Broadway in Chicago, Illinois, presented by the Chicago Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
Composers whose works will be performed include Fanny Mendelssohn, Elizabeth Stirling, Sharon Willis, Jeanne Demessieux and Barbara Harbach. She will perform her Nights in Timisoara, Darwall’s 148th, Fantasy and Fugue on a Hungarian Melody and other works.

Barbara Harbach has toured extensively as both concert organist and harpsichordist. As a composer, she has a large catalog of works, including symphonies, works for chamber ensemble, string orchestra, organ, harpsichord, musicals, choral anthems, film scores, modern ballets, and many arrangements for brass and organ of various Baroque works. Her works are available on MSR Classics, Naxos, Gasparo Records, Kingdom Records, Albany Records and Northeastern Records, and are published by Hester Park, Robert King, Elkan-Vogel, Augsburg Publishing, Agape Music and Vivace Press.
