Clarinetist Stanley Drucker in Concert on April 17

Legendary clarinetist Stanley Drucker will be in concert as part of A Night with the Devil on Saturday, April 17 8 PM at the Bay Street Theater, located on The Long Wharf in Sag Harbor, New York.
Mr. Drucker will be part of the ensemble performing Stravinsky's L'Histoire du Soldat and Beethovens Trio, Op. 11, for clarinet, cello and piano. Other works on the program are by contemporary composers Johnny Reinhard and Peter Aldin. Other performers will be Eriko Sato (Violin), David Oei (Piano), David Taylor (Bass Trombone & Soldier), Laila Maria Salins (Voice & Narrator) and Lutz Rath (Cello & Devil).

At the conclusion of the 2008-2009 season, New York Philharmonic Principal Clarinet Stanley Drucker celebrated 60 years as a member of the Orchestra and announced his retirement. In honor of his 50th anniversary, and in recognition of his highly respected and widely acknowledged musical excellence and dedication, he was named Musical America's 1998 Instrumentalist of the Year. He has made approximately 190 solo appearances with the Philharmonic since joining it at age 19.
The Philharmonic estimates that he has performed in 10,200 concerts, which is approximately 70% of the total number of their concerts since 1842. He has been Principal Clarinetist for a record 48 years, playing under 9 Music Directors, among them Bruno Walter, Dmitri Mitropolous, Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Boulez and Zubin Mehta.
