Pianist Jeffrey Biegel Performs Tschaikowsky with Kevin Rhodes

Marking his fourth appearance with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, pianist Jeffrey Biegel returns this weekend bringing Tschaikowsky's beloved 'Concerto no. 1 in B-flat minor'. In April, 2009, Mr. Biegel was asked on short notice to perform this same work in Bogota, Colombia, as a result of an infamous contact via Facebook! This will be Mr. Biegel's third visit with the SSO with current Music Director, Kevin Rhodes. In earlier seasons, they have collaborated in Beethoven's 'Emperor' Concerto no. 5, Lowell Liebermann's 'Concerto no. 3' and will meet again this month with the Traverse Symphony Orchestra (Michigan) where Maestro Rhodes is also Music Director--in a repeat performance of the Tschaikowsky work. Their friendship does not stop in Michigan, for Maestro Rhodes is also a candidate for Music Director of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, and has invited Mr. Biegel to join him in four performances of Beethoven's 'Emperor' Concerto no. 5 in October, 2010.
