The Binelli-Ferman Duo, Argentinean bandoneonist Daniel Binelli and Uruguayan-American pianist Polly Ferman, will be in concert with the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong on Tuesday, January 19 - 8:00 PM at the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall in Hong Kong, China.

Guest conductor for this Tango Passion concert will be Germán Augusto Gutiérrez, who will join the Binelli-Ferman Duo in a program of music by Daniel Binelli (his Tango in the Night and Homage to Tango, a Concerto for Piano, Bandoneon and Strings) as well as music by Horacio Salgan, Anibal Troilo, Astor Piazzolla, and many others. The program will be broadcast on Hong Kong television and recorded for CD after the performance. Ms. Ferman will also present Master Classes featuring music by Ginastera and Piazzolla during her time in the city.

Homage to Tango, dedicated to Polly Ferman, is a 22-minute piece in three movements played without interruption. The movements are Gran Tango, Milonga-Candombe and Requiem. It was composed as an homage to Osvaldo Pugliese and Astor Piazzolla, Binelli's two musical mentors. The piano represents Maestro Osvaldo Puglise, pianist and creator of the 50 year-old Osvaldo Pugliese Orchestra and the bandoneon represents composer and bandoneon master Astor Piazzolla. Tango, Milonga and Candombe feature both Argentinian and Uruguayan rhythms.

For tickets and more information, call URBTIX at 2734 9009 or visit the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong at http://www.ccohk.com/.
