Violinist Alexandre Djokic in Concert at Michener Art Museum

Renowned violinist Alexandre Djokic and cellist Stephen Framil will present Virtuosity Times Two, a concert on Sunday, December 13 at the James A. Michener Art Museum, 128 South Pine Street in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

The duo will perform Haydn's Duo for Violin and Cello in D Major, Benjamin Britten's Suite No. 1 for Solo Cello, Prokofiev's Solo Sonata, Op 115 for Violin, and the famous Passacaglia by Johan Halvorsen for violin and cello, based on Handel's Suite No. 7 in G Minor.

Tickets are $10 for members, $20 for non-members, $7.50 for students with ID and includes museum admission. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance by calling the museum at 215-340-9800. For more information, visit http://www.michenermuseum.org/.

Violinist Alexandre Djokic has performed as recitalist and soloist in Canada, Chicago, Philadelphia, Baltimore and New York. At 22 he was the youngest violinist to be awarded a prize at the Colmar International Competition in France. His performances as solo violinist of the Delaware Valley Chamber Ensemble have been frequently broadcast on Cable TV. He also performs in recitals as a member of Duo d'Esterhazy with renowned pianist, Roburt Gajdos, and in a duo with prominent organist, Trent Johnson. In addition, Djokic is Director of Central Bucks Conservatory in Doylestown, and is Artistic Director of Konzertgild Chamber Music Series. Visit him at http://www.alexandredjokic.com/.

Cellist Stephen Framil holds a Doctorate in Cello Performance from Indiana University School of Music and is currently Artistic Director of the West Catholic Philadelphia Conservatory, and Music Director and Conductor of the Camerata Philadelphia. He has appeared with many orchestras, including Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra, Volograd Philharmonic and Viet Nam National Symphony. As Artistic Director, Framil leads the Port City Chamber Music Festival in North Carolina, and CelloFeast (Atlanta-Wilmington,NC-Philadelphia-Sarasota,FL). His recording of the two Haydn Cello Concertos will be released in 2009 on Centaur Records.
