The annual Usdan Center Gala features a patron dinner, followed by a Gala concert of students and special guests and awards. A Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Agnes Gund, President Emerita of the Museum of Modern Art. The event benefits Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts, America's largest summer arts day camp, which has introduced the visual and performing arts to more than 40,000 young people ages 6 to 18, many on scholarship, for almost 40 years. |

Attend the inaugural evening of a new event created to identify and help nurture the next generation of Wagner singers. Following auditions in London, Paris, Berlin, New York, and Seattle, eight finalists have been selected to perform in concert with full orchestra at McCaw Hall. At the end of the evening, a panel of celebrated opera industry professionals will award two $15,000 prizes.

The National Flute Association will host a gathering of over 3000 flutists from around the globe in Pittsburgh at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center August 10-13, 2006. Prominent musicians from a dozen countries and five continents will be featured at the 34th annual convention. Events will include a multitude of concerts, competitions, panels, workshops and exhibits. Individual events are open to the public on a space available basis. Tickets may be purchased at the NFA registration desk: daytime events are $15 (students $10); evening concerts and a day pass to the exhibits are each $25 (students $20).
