The ARC Ensemble -a multiple Grammy, JUNO, and OPUS Klassik nominee — presents a groundbreaking program of musical discoveries by three exiled composers with deep ties to New York. The concert takes place on November 15 at Merkin Hall. Jerzy Fitelberg and Frederick Block fled Europe before WWII, settling in NYC. ARC's Artistic Director Simon Wynberg unearthed their scores in the Special Collections of Lincoln Center’s Library for the Performing Arts. Their works are joined by an exceptional clarinet sonata by composer Arthur Willner, whose archive is at the NYC's Leo Baeck Institute. ARC Ensemble has dedicated over two decades to reviving the music of the mainly Jewish composers whose lives and careers were derailed and marginalized by exile during the 1930s. ARC's concerts and recordings have earned rave reviews and a dedicated international following. Their acclaimed “Music in Exile” series on Chandos has restored an invaluable heritage and a growing number of masterworks are now joining the repertoir
