The Exhale was created by violinist Gwendolyn Masin as a safe space where musicians can come together without outward expectation, and away from the more competitive elements of the profession, to develop and grow, learn from others, and nurture their inner wellbeing as well as hone their musical skills. The classes, which are open to professional, student and amateur musicians, are complemented by sessions on Alexander Technique, Yoga, Feldenkrais, career development and psychology. In addition, the popular weekly Artist Cafe events bring together guests to discuss a range of music-related issues, including managing stage fright, balancing a professional career with family life, and approaching auditions. Special guests include Roderick Williams, Gabriela Montero, Natalie Clein, and Gary Hoffman.
