Orli Shaham is one of the hosts and performers in Kaufman Music Center's "Day of Musical Action"

"Day of Musical Action" includes performances and special appearances by celebrity guests to raise critical funds to support music education

On Monday, June 1, pianist Orli Shaham and the entire Kaufman Music Center community will come together for a special online event. Featuring performances by students and faculty from all of the Center’s programs, including Special Music School, Lucy Moses School, Face the Music, Theater@Kaufman and Luna Composition Lab, Kaufman Music Center's "Day of Musical Action" raises critical funds in support of KMC’s ongoing efforts to level the playing field for more than 4,000 music students from all backgrounds each year. The performances will take place all day (beginning at 7 AM) with special VIP appearances between 4 and 8 PM (all times EDT).
 
Ms. Shaham hosts the event from 5-6 PM and will perform Brahms' Hungarian Dance for two pianos along with pianist Shai Wosner during prime time (7-8 PM). Ms. Shaham's and Mr. Wosner's performance will be introduced by the legendary pianist, Emanuel Ax. The livestream is free and available to the public on Kaufman Music Center’s Facebook page.
 
Donations to Kaufman’s music education and performance programs can be made at this link, and will be matched by a $15,000 challenge grant.
 
Orli Shaham serves on the board at Kaufman Music Center, and her children's music education program, Orli Shaham's Bach Yard is hosted and presented by KMC.
 
Kaufman Music Center's "Day of Musical Action" features performances and special appearances by celebrity guests including Misha Amory, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, Emanuel Ax, Joshua Bell, Desmond Child, Broadway stars Nikki Renée Daniels and Jeff Kready, Béla Fleck, Erika Ender, Sir James Galway, Hsin-Yun Huang, Missy Mazzoli, Terrance McKnight, Alan Menken, David Robertson, Ellen Reid, John Schaefer, Caroline Shaw, Carol Wincenc, Orli Shaham, Shai Wosner, legendary songwriter Paul Williams and more TBA, as well as Kaufman Music Center Artists-in-Residence JACK Quartet, Nathalie Joachim and Rob Kapilow.
 
 consummate musician recognized for her grace, subtlety and vitality, concert pianist Orli Shaham is in demand for her prodigious skills and admired internationally for her interpretations of both standard and modern repertoire.
 
Her performance schedule brings her to stages from Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House and most of the major venues in between, for recitals, chamber music and concerti. Since 2007, Ms. Shaham has been curator of Café Ludwig, a chamber music series presented by Pacific Symphony in California.
 
Orli Shaham’s dozen recordings, including works by Mozart, Brahms and John Adams, have received worldwide accolades. Orli Shaham’s Bach Yard, a live interactive concert series for young children that she founded in 2010 is recognized by parents, media and the music community as a significant force in music education and entertainment.
