VOCALIST AJ LAMBERT DEBUTS NEW VIDEO AND ANNOUNCES NYC ALBUM PREVIEW PERFORMANCE

Watch “You and Your Sister” Here; Headline Show at Rough Trade NYC on May 25

New Album, Careful You, Out Later This Year

Today AJ Lambert, granddaughter of Frank Sinatra and daughter of Nancy Sinatra, debuted a new video for “You and Your Sister.” AJ Lambert’s style and interpretations of both standards and modern music alike is truly her own, as displayed on this classic Chris Bell (Big Star) single. In the clip, directed by Boshra AlSaadi, AJ trails the oblivious object of her desire throughout the East Village, Chinatown and onto the NYC Ferry which carries him to the outer boroughs and out of her sights. The video was shot one sunny afternoon using an old iPhone. AJ explains her relationship with the song: “I’ve had this in my head since I was a teenager and had a whole different understanding of it back then. I mainly knew the version by This Mortal Coil with Kim Deal singing.”

The track comes from her forthcoming release, Careful YouCareful You is an album of unique, poignant interpretations of songs by artists including Spoon, TV on the Radio and John Cale, as well as some of her grandfather’s deep cuts such as “Sleep Warm” and “I’ll Be Seeing You.” The album, recorded with a full band and produced by Daniel Schlett (The War on Drugs, Amen Dunes) and Boshra AlSaadi (TEEN, Janka Nabay), is due out later this year. She’ll perform selections from Careful You at an exclusive album preview show at Rough Trade NYC on May 25. AJ will tour in support of Careful You throughout 2018.

AJ has worked as a film music supervisor and bassist in various bands (including Here We Go Magic and a reunion of seminal punk icons The Homosexuals). As a solo vocalist, her revolving tour of small clubs in New York (Feinstein’s 54 Below), Los Angeles (Gardenia), Palm Springs (Purple Room), and Las Vegas showcases her work in a more intimate setting. She is currently performing complete Sinatra albums live, such as In The Wee Small Hours, with John Boswell on piano. AJ also hosts “Third Generation” on Sirius XM’s “Siriusly Sinatra” channel and regularly performs at private and charity events.
