Finalists Announced at International Music Competition Harbin 2018
Harbin, China – January 22, 2018. Today, the finalists have been announced for the inaugural International Music Competition Harbin (IMCH) in the categories of violin, piano, and voice.
Violin Finalists:

The final rounds for all categories will take place January 23 and 24 at the Harbin Concert Hall in Harbin, China with the Harbin Symphony Orchestra. The performances are being livestreamed by Medici TV. The winner’s gala and awards ceremony will take place on January 26.

About International Music Competition Harbin:
The International Music Competition Harbin (IMCH) will be held from January 12-26, 2018 and is co-hosted by the Harbin Municipal Government and Harbin Conservatory of Music. As the capital city of Heilongjiang Province and Eurasia’s cultural and economic crossroads, Harbin has developed a musical culture greatly influenced by the western traditions. The Harbin Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1908 as the first of its kind in China, and its Harbin Summer Music Concert is one of China’s most magnificent music festivals. In 2010, Harbin was awarded the honorary title of “City of Music” by the United Nations.
The IMCH’s jury members are distinguished leaders in the arts from Europe, the Americas, China, and Russia – including Alissa Margulis (violin), Augustin Dumay (violin), Arnaldo Cohen (piano), Martin Engström (piano), Kiri Te Kanawa (voice), and Paolo Coni (voice), and many others. The Organizing Committee of IMCH announces 4 prizes for pianists, 4 prizes for violinists, 4 prizes for vocalists and several special prizes in both sections. These prizes amount to the following cash sums: 1st Prize $ 50,000; 2nd Prize $30,000; 3rd Prize $20,000; 4th Prize $10,000. These prizes will be awarded to the contestants in the closing ceremony and gala concert at the end of the competition on January 26, 2018.
