Celebrate Beethoven's 250th Birthday with the Northbrook Symphony Orchestra

Join the Northbrook Symphony under the direction of Maestro Mina Zikri as it celebrates the  250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s birth. Honoring his genius and resilience by  presenting the Beethoven Piano Concerto No.2 in B-flat major, Op.19. Featuring Steinway  Artist/Pianist, and Highland Park, IL resident, Susan Merdinger

This historic prerecorded live performance  will be streamed by IN. LIVE. Recorded on October 27, 2020 in the midst of the Global COVID-19 Pandemic, fifty musicians and audio-video engineers came together to rehearse and record this work in socially-distanced manner,  each musician at least 6 feet apart from one another,  fully-masked in formal concert attire.

The Northbrook Symphony celebrates its 41st season/ 2nd season under Maestro Mina Zikri as  Music Director. An internationally acclaimed conductor, Maestro Zikri is the founder and  Music Director of the Oistrakh Symphony of Chicago and is the Resident Conductor of the Lira  Ensemble. Maestro Zikri frequently travels as Assistant Conductor to legendary pianist and  conductor Daniel Barenboim with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra on their annual tours to  major music festivals and concert halls world-wide. 

American Steinway Artist, Susan Merdinger, has been internationally acclaimed for her stunning performances and recordings. Performing her sold-out solo piano recital debut in Carnegie Recital Hall at age twenty-four, Merdinger has continued to grace the stages of some of the world's best concert halls, and has appeared on radio and television in the USA, Canada and Europe. A graduate of Yale University and the Yale School of Music, Merdinger is a Gold Medalist in  The Global Music Awards and an Honored Artist of The American Prize. This marks Susan's second appearance with the Northbrook Symphony Orchestra.
