Omer Meir Wellber: MET Debut
Omer Meir Wellber will give his debut at Metropolitan Opera in New York with Bizet’s Carmen in October 2018.
Before, on 20 and 21 September Omer Meir Wellber will again be guest at Gewandhausorchestra Leipzig and will, among others, conduct Leonard Bernstein’s Facsimile, a choreographed and seldomly performed work for orchestra, together with ballet dancers from the Musikalische Komödie Leipzig.
Omer Meir Wellber will start season 2018/19 as Principal Guest Conductor at Semperoper Dresden and as such will conduct the premiere of Verdi’s Nabucco in May 2019 as well as revival performances of Wagner’s Tannhäuser, Strauss‘ Rosenkavalier and a symphonic concert with the Staatskapelle Dresden.
His Hamburg Elbphilharmonie debut will take place in March 2019 with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra.
During the season Omer Meir Wellber will also be guest at the Orchestra RAI Torino, the BBC Philharmonic, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Kammerphilharmonie Bremen (among others with a concert at Bachfest Leipzig).
In January 2020 he will become Music Director of the Teatro Massimo in Palermo. The program for this season (January – December 2020) will be announced in March 2019.
