Feinstein's/54 Below and The Second Act Series present madcap musical CHARLOTTE SWEET
The one-night-only concert of the much loved show takes place February 27, 2018 at 7pm

February 6 – New York - Feinstein's/54 Below Salutes The Second Act Series presents a one-night-only concert of the much-loved, madcap musical Charlotte Sweet, with music by Gerald Jay Markoe and book and lyrics by Michael Colby. One of the most acclaimed musicals of 1982, Charlotte Sweet spotlights an unusually high voiced soprano, Charlotte, who because of her father's debts, is forced to leave her Liverpool sweetheart, Ludlow Ladd, and join Barnaby Bugaboo's Circus of Voices. The troupe of freak voices includes low-voiced Katinka Bugaboo, fast-voiced Harry Host, bubble-voiced Cecily Macintosh, and Skitzy Scofield (with dual personalities & voices). The February event will be narrated by the original Charlotte, Mara Beckerman, who received one of the show’s three Drama Desk Award nominations in 1983: Outstanding Music (Markoe), Outstanding Lyrics (Colby), and Outstanding Actress in a Musical (Beckerman). The toast of Off-Broadway, Charlotte Sweet was featured in coveted display at Henri Bendel, courtesy of the legendary Geraldine Stutz, who transformed the store in the 1960s into a bellwether of all things chic and ahead of the curve. Date is February 27, 2018 at 7pm. Reservations for this one-night-only event can be made by calling: 646.476.3551, or online at: https://54below.com/events/charlotte-sweet-concert/

“It's as if the Crummles from 'Nicholas Nickleby' stumbled onto the set of 'Sweeney Todd.' Mixes the adorable and the strange, and it is delectable. The glory is Mr. Colby's lyrics.” - John Corry, NY Times

Charlotte Sweet - In Concert is presented by the team behind the popular Second Act Series, Steven Carl McCasland and James Horan, who brought Bring Back Birdie, Shelter (starring Jon Cryer), Onward Victoria, The Fix, Henry, Sweet Henry, Charlie and Algernon, 70, Girls, 70, Nick & Nora, Eating Raoul and more to New York's hottest supper club. The evening features Musical Direction by Horan and Direction by McCasland. Tickets for the one-night-only concert are available by calling: 646.476.3551 or online at: https://54below.com/events/charlotte-sweet-concert/.

“I loved the show. It is, as Variety noted, impeccable.” – Leonard Cohen

Set to star as Charlotte is Adrienne Eller, most recently seen in the National Tour of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. Joining Eller are Bethe Austin (star of Broadway's WHOOPIE! and original leading lady of Colby’s Tales of Tinseltown) as Cecily MacIntosh, Justin Chevalier (The Last Séance) as Ludlow Ladd; Robert Cuccioli (Rothschild and Sons, Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark, Jekyll & Hyde) as Barnaby Bugaboo; Sandy Rosenberg (Mamma Mia!, The Scarlett Pimpernel) as Katinka Bugaboo; Eddie Korbich (The Drowsy Chaperone, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, A Christmas Story) as Harry Host; Alli Mauzey (Cry-Baby, WICKED) as Skitzy Scofield; Michael McCoy (Phantom of the Opera) as Bob Sweet.
