On Monday, December 5, from 3:30 to 5:00 pm, Harold Rosenbaum, founder and conductor of The New York Virtuoso Singers, will present a Choral Workshop for Composers, at ASCAP's 7th Floor Lounge, located at 1900 Broadway in New York, NY. RSVP required, as seating is limited. RSVP at concertmusic@ascap.com.

The event, presented by The ASCAP Foundation, will cover a host of significant topics that are especially important to composers of choral music. Among a wide range of subject matter may include the basics of writing for chorus (ranges, notation, format and font), tips on how to create a user-friendly score for performers, as well as other practical advice, especially useful to composers submitting choral work to conductors. A brief Q&A will follow. More about it at https://www.ascap.com/news-and-events/calendar/event-details?eventid=c98e7eb0-d5fc-4574-bc34-948b484d70a5.

We encourage you to bring along your own choral scores, either works in progress, or ones already written, whether a cappella or ones including instrumentation. With well over 40 years of professional experience, Dr. Rosenbaum’s focused aim will be geared towards answering the most complex to most practical conducting questions. Visit him at http://www.haroldrosenbaum.com.

This workshop is also offering an opportunity to attendees to prepare a PDF version with selections that you would like Dr. Rosenbaum to consider for discussion purposes. If you are interested, please send an email to concertmusic@ascap.com and you will receive further instructions.
