Juilliard Historical Performance Presents an Evening of Chamber Music Tuesday, December 18 at 8 PM In Juilliard’s Paul Hall
Juilliard Historical Performance presents an evening of chamber music featuring works by C.P.E. Bach, J.S. Bach, Boccherini, Fontana, and Vivaldi on Tuesday, December 18 at 8 PM in Juilliard’s Paul Hall. The program features Giovanni Battista Fontana’s Sonata decima; Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach’s Trio Sonata in E Major, Wq. 162; Johann Sebastian Bach’s Concerto Terzo a tre Violini, tre Viole è Tre Violoncelli con Basso per il Cembalo (“Brandenburg” Concerto No. 3), BWV 1048; Luigi Boccherini’s String Quintet in D Major, Op. 11, No. 6, G. 276 “L’Uccelliera”; and Antonio Vivaldi’s Concerto for Flute, Violin, and Bassoon in G Minor, RV 107.
Juilliard performers include: Jae-Won Bang, Nanae Iwata, Samuel Park, and Emmanuel Resche (Baroque violin); Daniel McCarthy, Kyle Miller, and Mai Kim Nguyen (Baroque viola); Anthony Albrecht, Paul Dwyer, and Michael Unterman (Baroque cello); Wen Yang (Baroque double bass); Clayton Zeller-Townson (dulcian and Baroque bassoon); David Ross and Antonio Campillo Santos (Baroque flute); Brandon Labadie (Baroque oboe); Elliott Figg, Patrick Jones, and Ignacio Prego (harpsichord).

The concert is the 11th annual Jerome L. Greene concert. The annual Jerome L. Greene concert honors the memory and the legacy of an individual who had an enormously positive impact on Juilliard, the City of New York, and many institutions here and around the nation. Mr. Greene was a board member of The Juilliard School from 1985 to 1999. During his tenure, he was one of the School’s most generous supporters, and helped guide the institution with his wise counsel and extraordinary business skills. This concert, endowed by the Jerome L. Greene Foundation, continues Juilliard’s first concert series dedicated exclusively to the performance of Baroque music. The Juilliard community also remembers the late Dawn Greene, who continued her husband’s tradition of philanthropy as President of The Foundation, for her vision and support in the creation of these concerts and an extraordinary endowment which will assist generations of Juilliard musicians in the time ahead. # # #
