Cellist Zuill Bailey will be the special guest on December 8 for two ground breaking concerts with the Hiland Mountain Correctional Center Women’s Strings Orchestra in Alaska. Here he will continue to work to inspire the women who have dedicated time and commitment to classical music to soothe, heal and provide the fellow musicians with inspiration that can help them find their way back to society.

One such musician, Sarah Coffman, has been part of the Women’s Orchestra since its inception in 2003. She completed her 14-year sentence in February and will return and perform as a citizen for the first time. “Sarah is a wonderful example of the rehabilitative and redemptive power of music,” Bailey said. The Concerts are at 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Facility in Eagle River, Alaska. For more go to www.artsontheedge.org.
