Sheridan Music Studio's Blue Skies Concerts officially opens the Fall season with a virtual-only concert on IN.LIVE performed by Jon Samson, a native of South Africa, currently a resident of Brooklyn, New York. The Virtual Concert will be Livestreamed on Wednesday September 16th, 2020 at 12 Noon, CDT. Founded by Steinway Artist Susan Merdinger, and now led with Co-Artistic Director, Dr. Svetlana Belsky, Sheridan Music Studio LLC is the product of collaboration between the two professional pianists and friends. They decided that their new downtown studio would be the perfect venue and host for concerts and opened their studio in the historic Fine Arts Building last November. The COVID-19 Pandemic changed all of that and closed them down. But with a new Pandemic-friendly model for concerts they have forged ahead with two series: Music with a View ( Classical) and Blue Skies Concerts (Non-Classical). Enabling socially-distant small audience concerts plus state-of-the-art Livestreaming with their livestream Sponsor, IN.LIVE, the concerts promise to offer the best quality live concerts for live and virtual audiences in Chicago and virtual audiences around the world! Dr. Ilya Levinson, a Grammy-nominated Composer based in CHicago is a Co-Host of the Series and a Composer-in-Residence at Sheridan Music Studio.
Sheridan Music Studio presented a selection of the Music with a View and Blue Skies Concert Artists in their first-ever outdoor music festival in Highland Park, SummerMusic. It was the cancellation of the Ravinia Music Festival that prompted Merdinger to find a suitable replacement for her fellow musicians and music-loving friends. The series was a huge success and now will continue with indoor and virtual concerts featuring a wide range of talented musicians and ensembles.

As we literally nourish ourselves with the fruits of nature’s rhythms and harmony, we express symbolically through music and other forms of creativity. The human body seems to have been designed for this-
Singing, clapping, stomping, patting, snapping, tapping, clicking, beat-boxing, dancing...
