The Biennial Young Artist and Ellis Duo-Pianists competitions award a total of $92,000 in awards and two years of performance bookings. Additional competitions are sponsored by the Federation in a wide range of categories, including voice, instrumental music, composition, dance, conducting, handicapped and visually impaired, and <strong>music therapy<\/strong>. NFMC also sponsors more than 38 annual and biennial awards for students desiring to attend the 20 sponsored Summer Music Centers.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/app.smarterselect.com\/programs\/32006-Sigma-Alpha-Iota-International-Music-Fraternity\" target=\"_blank\">Sigma Alpha Iota Doctoral Grant<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nA grant of $2,500 is awarded to a member of Sigma Alpha Iota who is enrolled in a program leading to a doctoral degree. This grant is most applicable to students in the final stages of their program. An abstract of the member&#8217;s dissertation\/final project is required. Dissertations are acceptable in Music Education, <strong>Music Therapy<\/strong>, Musicology, Ethno-musicology, Theory, Psychology of Music, or Applied Research including Performance or Pedagogy.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/app.smarterselect.com\/programs\/32002-Sigma-Alpha-Iota-International-Music-Fraternity\" target=\"_blank\">Sigma Alpha Iota Music Therapy Scholarship<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nOne $1,500 scholarship is available to an undergraduate or graduate member of Sigma Alpha Iota who has successfully completed a minimum of two years approved training toward a degree in music therapy. She must be continuing her studies in this field.
