Communicating with Your Audience
During Edna’s 23 years as managing director of IMG Artists, she personally looked after the career of violinist, Itzhak Perlman and launched the careers of musicians such as pianists Evgeny Kissin and Lang Lang, violinist Hilary Hahn, and conductors Franz Welser-Mõst and Alan Gilbert.
Edna believes young musicians can grow their own careers, with “hard work, blind faith, passion for the cause, incessant networking and a vision that refuse[s] to be tarnished by naysayers.”

North Shore Civic Ballet to Debut New Work in
"12 Dancers Dancing...A Christmas in Cambridge" at the Dance Complex
(Marblehead, Massachusetts; November 20, 2017) – The North Shore Civic Ballet (NSCB) returns for a second year to present new work in the annual "12 Dancers Dancing...A Christmas in Cambridge". The holiday concert performs on December 9 at 8:00 p.m. and 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Dance Complex, located at 536 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the Central Square. The program features new dance pieces presented by 14 area Boston dance companies. Original choreography and an array of dance styles and inspirational work are shown.
Tickets, adults for $22 and seniors and children for $16, may be purchased at
https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3163799. Bring a new toy for donation to a children's charity and receive $1.00 off the admission.
Under Artistic Director Paula K. Shiff, the NSCB, a 43-year-old nonprofit based at the Marblehead School of Ballet (MSB) in Marblehead, Massachusetts, premieres the original modern ballet piece, Buena, choreographed by Ivan Korn, with music by Newton native Mark Sandman. The piece presents a dance fantasy of two characters that lose themselves in a game of lights.
Dancers from the area scheduled to appear in the NSCB's new work are Mia Chung and Mollie Frederiksen. They have studied at the MSB for several years and performed in several NSCB programs, including the José Mateo Ballet Theatre Presents 9th Annual Dance for World Community Festival presented in June. Chung attends Boston University Academy in Boston and is completing her senior year of high school. This past spring, Frederiksen graduated with a doctorate in physical therapy from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions.
The NSCB has performed previously in other programs at The Dance Complex. In 2016, the NSCB debuted in the annual "12 Dancers Dancing...A Christmas in Cambridge" and welcomes the opportunity to appear again in this holiday program. "We are delighted to perform again in this festive event and collaborate and perform with other companies in the Boston area," said Shiff.
