BSO Presents Symphony in the City at the Patterson Park Observatory |

The BSO’s Symphony in the City series is back! Symphony in the City brings the Orchestra out of the concert hall and into community locations across Baltimore City. Led by BSO Assistant Conductor Jonathan Rush and featuring spoken word artist, Wordsmith, in partnership with the Friends of Patterson Park include a combination of classical favorites paired with pop music specially arranged for Wordsmith to perform with the BSO.

The 92nd Street Y, one of New York's leading cultural venues, today announced The Bach-Mendelssohn Connection,a ten-day festival of concerts and salons that will explore the unexpected or hidden connections between Johann Sebastian Bach and Felix Mendelssohn. The festival will feature Jeremy Denk, Steven Isserlis, the Emerson String Quartet, and more. Each performance and evening will explore the inspiration and influence in the world of two genius composers. Tickets are available at https://www.92y.org/bach-festival.

Known for cultivating dancer-choreographers, Houston Ballet fosters artists both on and offstage for Originals. The program will feature the premiere of Floreciente, a one-act ballet by Principal Dancer Melody Mennite set to music by Rene Aubry, Ezio Bosso and Max Richter; the world premiere of Principal Dancer Connor Walsh’s A Joyous Trilogy (in flight), with music composed and conducted by Dallas native Quinn Mason; and two ballets by Artistic Director Stanton Welch: the return of The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra and the first-ever joint performance between Houston Ballet and the globally acclaimed Dance Theatre of Harlem in Welch’s Orange. |

Opera Saratoga announces a return to large scale performances this summer with a new Festival model that embraces partnerships with multiple venues across the region, including Proctors in Schenectady; The Egg in Albany; The Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs; The Round Lake Auditorium in Round Lake Village; The Barn at French Mountain in Lake George Village; and The Mansion Inn in Rock City Falls.
At the heart of the 2022 Summer Festival will be performances of Rossini's bel canto comedy The Barber of Seville on Proctors MainStage, as well as his exquisite Petite Messe Solennelle at The Round Lake Auditorium; the deeply moving Sky on Swings by Lembit Beecher and Hannah Moscovitch at The Egg, which explores the journey of two women living with Alzheimer's disease; and Stephen Sondheim's Broadway masterpiece, Sweeney Todd, on the Amphitheater Stage of the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. |

Kaatsbaan Cultural Park continues its mission to be a home for artists across disciplines with their Annual Summer and Fall Festivals. From June 3 to 19, rising stars from American Ballet Theatre Studio Company and Live Arts Global, and the critical darling of the New York scene Taylor Mac will present both classic and new works. On September 16, the Fall Festival opens with a celebration of Philip Glass's 85th birthday as dancers, musicians, poets, visual artists and more perform, interpret, and discuss the composer's Glass Etudesthroughout Kaatsbaan's lush 153-acres in the Hudson Valley. BSO Presents Ragtime, Blues, and All that Jazz |

In this “tour de force” concert, Byron Stripling showcases ragtime masters Scott Joplin and Jelly Roll Morton in addition to blues legends B.B. King and Muddy Waters. Stripling’s entertaining and humorous vignettes about the music and its creators, with a finale that closes with an unforgettable toe-tapping jam session, are not to be missed. Stripling is joined by keyboardist Bobby Floyd of the Ray Charles, Dr. John, and Count Basie Bands.
This concert repeats on Thu., 6/2 at 8 PM at The Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda and on Sat., 6/4 at 8 PM and Sun., 6/5 at 3 PM at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore, MD.

Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, is proud to present the world premiere of Third Bird, with a libretto and direction by Isaac Mizrahi, music by composer Nico Muhly (played by Ensemble Signal and conducted by Brad Lubman), choreography by John Heginbotham, and lighting by Brandon Stirling Baker. Performances are on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 6pm and 7:30pm; Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 2:30pm and 4pm; and on Sunday, June 5 at 2:30pm and 4pm. Each 30-minute performance will take place in the Frank Lloyd Wright-designedPeter B. Lewis Theater at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Recommended for Ages 5 and older. Full vaccination required for all.
