Agustin Anievas in Concert – Third 5 @ 5 at DiMenna Solo Piano Performance on April 4

American pianist Agustin Anievas will be in concert on Saturday, April 4, presenting Schubert, Beethoven and Chopin as the third program of 5 @ 5 at DiMenna, a new solo piano performance series curated by Mirian Conti, at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, 450 West 37th Street in Manhattan. This event is sponsored by The George D. and Freda B. Abraham Foundation.

Mr. Anievas will perform 4 Impromptus, Op. 90-D 899 by Schubert, Beethoven’s Sonata No. 7, op. 10, No. 3 and Chopin’s Nocturne No. 16, Op. 55, No. 2 and Andante Spianato e Grande Polonaise, Op .22.

Internationally renowned American pianist Agustín Anievas has appeared in recital and with orchestras in the major music centers of the United States, including NYC’s Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, as well as in Europe, North and South America, Australia, and many Middle East and Far East countries. He is praised for his sensitive musicianship as well as his bravura and virtuosity, summed up by the Washington Post, which headlined its review, “That’s the way to play the piano!” Following several decades as Chairman of the Piano Department, and Professor of Piano at Brooklyn College’s Conservatory, Mr. Anievas has recently released a new CD on the Newport Classic label of the Schumann Fantasy and the Chopin Etudes, Op. 10. He is currently Chairman of the National Chopin Competition, which is held every five years in Miami, and was held in February of his year. Visit him at http://www.agustinanievas.com/.
