Members of EU Parliament Express Support to the WIMUST Project in Brussels
Italian MEP Silvia Costa hosted the presentation of the
European project WIMUST–Women in Music Uniting
Strategies for Talent on the 19th of June 2012 at the European
Parliament in Brussels, discussing on the WIMUST activities
and objectives with Patricia Adkins Chiti (President,
Fondazione Adkins Chiti-Donne in Musica), MEPs Antigoni
Papodopoulou (Cyprus) and Britta Thomsen (Denmark),
Alessandro Senesi (Deputy Head of Unit - European
Commission, Directorate General for Education and Culture)
and Federiga Bindi (Director of the Italian Cultural Institute,
Brussels).
During the presentation MEP Silvia Costa gave also the floor to women composers Sophie Lacaze (France) and Tina Ternes (Germany), and the Italian Flute Quartett “IMAGE” performed commissioned works from both composers as well as from Pernille Bévort (Denmark), Marielli Sfakianaki (Greece), Silvia Colasanti (Italy) and Kristina Vasiliauskaite (Lithuania).

MEP Antigoni Papodopoulou (Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality): “I would like to congratulate Ms Adkins Chiti for her effort and work to gain visibility for women composers and her er wealth of ideas. The WIMUST project will have my full support”
