Harold Rosenbaum Choral Conducting Institute Workshop – October 8 in New York, New York

The next 2017 Harold Rosenbaum Choral Conducting Institute workshop will be held at Nola Studios, 244 W. 54th St., 11th floor, studio D in New York, New York on Sunday, October 8 from 2 to 5 PM. Registration will close on Friday, October 6 at 5:00 pm.

Dr. Rosenbaum will bring multiple copies of a number of pieces, and will discuss the conducting challenges in each. Then, the group will do the actual conducting gestures of those spots. Participants are welcome to bring their own scores with questions they have.

Harold Rosenbaum is the only living choral conductor to have received the prestigious Ditson Award, bestowed annually since 1945 by Columbia University.  Choral conductors Robert Shaw and Gregg Smith were the other choral conductors to receive it. Other conductor recipients include Leonard Bernstein, James Levine, Alan Gilbert, Robert Spano, Mstislav Rostropovich, Eugene Ormandy, Lukas Foss, Michael Tilson Thomas, and Leopold Stokowski.

Dr. Harold Rosenbaum, recipient of the 2014 Ditson Conductor’s Award from Columbia University, is the founder and conductor of the New York Virtuoso Singers and the Canticum Novum Singers.
