Dmitry Rachmanov in Concert – Final 2016 5@5 at DiMenna Solo Piano Series Performance

5@5 at DiMenna Solo Piano Series presents Dmitry Rachmanov in concert on Saturday, October 29 @ 5:00 PM, as the eleventh and final program of their 2016 performance series, curated by Mirian Conti, at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, 450 West 37th Street in Manhattan. The concert will feature two Schubert Impromptus from D935, No. 1 in F Minor and No. 2 in A-Flat Major, Schumann’s Faschingsschwank aus Wien, Rachmaninoff’s Three Preludes Op. 32, No. 10 in B Minor, No. 11 in B Major and No. 12 in G-Sharp Minor, as well as Scriabin’s Sonata No. 3 in F-Sharp Minor, Op. 23.

Pianist Dmitry Rachmanov has garnered acclaim for his passionate performances and refined musicianship. Hailed as an "indisputable musician" by the Brussels' Le Soir and "suave and gifted pianist by the New York Times, Rachmanov has appeared at venues such as New York's Carnegie Hall, Washington DC's Kennedy Center, London's South Bank Centre, and Beijing Concert Hall, and has collaborated with Ukraine National Symphony, National Orchestra of Porto and Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. He has recorded for Naxos, Navona and Vista Vera labels.

Dr. Rachmanov is a graduate of The Juilliard School and he holds the DMA from Manhattan School of Music. He is Professor of Piano at California State University, Northridge, where he serves as Chair of Keyboard Studies.
