Alice Kornhauser Named Executive Director of the Portland Chamber Music Festival

Ms. Kornhauser has over 20 years of experience leading strategic marketing and planning efforts for such organizations as Lincoln Center, Inc. and the Portland (Maine) Symphony Orchestra, most recently as Vice President of Marketing & Communications for United Way of Greater Portland and as an independent consultant. In her role as Executive Director, she oversees board relations, fundraising, and administration. She will work in close partnership with PCMF Founder and Artistic Director Jennifer Elowitch on strategic direction and community relations. Hugh Judge, President of the PCMF Board of Directors, said "We are delighted to welcome Alice to the PCMF team. She is a proven leader in the Portland arts community, and her skills and experience will be invaluable as we pursue our mission to perform world-class chamber music in Portland." Ms. Kornhauser, commenting on her appointment, said, "I am absolutely thrilled to be joining PCMF in this position, at this time. Founded in 1994, the Portland Chamber Music Festival features acclaimed performers from the United States and abroad presenting a wide range of contemporary and classical chamber music. Since 2007, the Festival has made its home at the Abromson Community Education Center at the University of Southern Maine’s Portland campus. Known primarily for its four-concert summer season in August, PCMF’s events also include a Children's Concert, an annual Composers Competition, a contemporary chamber music concert series at SPACE Gallery, and a Young Artist Apprentice Audition program.
