Jai Jeffryes Releases Debut Piano CD in Tribute to Hayner Cultural Center
September 12, 2014 (New York) Steel Wig Records is thrilled to announce the release of the debut CD of New York-based pianist Jai Jeffryes. The CD, Hayner Resounding, honors the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, which celebrates its centennial this year. Hayner Resounding presents Schubert's Op. 90 Impromptus and “Little” A Major Piano Sonata and Debussy's Images, Book 1. The recording is available from Amazon, iTunes, and www.Jeffryes.NET.
Troy-Hayner Cultural Center is an elegant performance venue in Jeffryes's hometown of Troy in Southwestern Ohio. Hayner Resounding presents studio recordings of music Jeffryes has performed at Hayner, in tribute and thanks to Hayner and his hometown community.
“The Debussy Images are impressionist essays that have been treated in every which manner over the years... Jeffryes... reveals an impressive and even technical apparatus that makes these gems speak with a fully satisfying voice,” writes Alan Becker of the American Record Guide. “The Steinway D has rarely been treated with such respect.”
In his next recording project, Tangent Shores, Jeffryes will produce original releases of contemporary solo piano music (www.TangentShores.com).
