Chamber Players International Presents Interludes Trio by David Winkler and Other Works on April 24 at The DiMenna Center in NYC

New York, NY – David Winkler’s Interludes Trio for violin, bass and piano will be given its World Premiere on Thursday, April 24 – 7:00 PM in Benzaquen Hall of The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, 450 West 37th Street in Manhattan, as part of a special concert sponsored by Chamber Players International.

The composer writes about the work, “My short Interludes Trio, is written for violin, double bass and piano. The work will receive its premiere performance on this April 24 concert and is an intimate follow-up to my Piano Quintet with Double Bass which was premiered at the Martha Argerich Project in Lugano, Switzerland last June, 2013.”

Music by Rossini, Piazzolla, Bottesini, Handel and Donizetti will also be presented on this concert. Performers include bassist Enrico Fagone, soprano Veronique Mercier, violinist Bela Horvath and pianist Svetlana Smolina.

David Winkler has composed over 200 works including four symphonies, six operatic works, two violin concertos, a piano concerto, a Double Concerto for Cello and Piano with Orchestra, various chamber concerti with string orchestra, song cycles, choral works, three string quartets, and many chamber music works including a piano quartet for the New York Philharmonic Ensembles.
