Midwest Young Artists to Perform Jazz & Orchestra Concert at Naperville’s Wentz Concert Hall on October 19
MYA is a top rated Chicago area educational institution that serves over 1,000 pre-college musicians annually with diverse ensemble offerings in orchestra, chamber music, early childhood education, jazz, voice, music theory, summer programs and competitions. Public performances are a major component of the curriculum, and the students are excited to show Naperville the products of their hard work.
The highlight of the orchestra’s repertoire will be Strauss’s Don Quixote, which will include a live action narration. The Big Band is working on a program of classic jazz works by John Clayton, John Green, Bill Holman, and more. The MYA jazz program is looking forward to working with composer John Clayton at their January 19th annual Jazz in January concert at Ravinia. The level of performance from these dedicated young musicians far surpasses the expectations of all audiences unfamiliar with the quality of MYA ensembles and commitment of the students. If you have not yet experienced a Midwest Young Artists concert, this is a fantastic event with which to begin your journey.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and are available for purchase right now online at: http://tickets.noctrl.edu/selecttix_nochart.php?s_id=1032&p_id=85887.
