Immaculata University, in conjunction with Jacobs Music, presents the inaugural “Steinway Spotlight Performance” featuring pianist Young-Ah Tak. The concert is being held on Saturday, February 2, at 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall. In addition, guests are also invited to Tak’s Master Class presentation/performance on Sunday, February 3, at 3:00 p.m. in Memorial Hall. Both events are free and open to the public.

Tak will perform various pieces including Sonata No. 6 in F Major, Op. 10, No. 2 by Ludwig van Beethoven; Five Pieces for Piano by Leon Kirchner; Two Lieder Transcriptions by Franz Schubert/Franz Liszt; Paraphrase on Verdi’s Quartet from Rigoletto by Franz Liszt; and Sonata in c minor, D. 958 by Franz Schubert. During her Master Class, Tak will listen to Immaculata Music students perform on the piano and will offer comments and suggestions to enhance their performance.

Making her New York City debut at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts’ Alice Tully Hall, Tak has appeared in the U.S. with the Imperial, Lansing, North Arkansas and Roanoke symphony orchestras and abroad with Filharmonia Pomorska (Poland), Oltenia Philharmonic (Romania), and in Korea with the Busan and Ulsan philharmonic orchestras and the Korean Symphony Orchestra. Tak received her training at three distinguished institutions – The Juilliard School, New England Conservatory and The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. She currently serves as Artist-in-Residence at Southeastern University in Florida. Her debut recording was released to critical acclaim and her newest CD features Haydn, Schumann, Liszt and Kirchner.

“As an All-Steinway school, Immaculata is pleased to add the Steinway Spotlight Performance to our diverse musical calendar of events,” commented Donna Bohn, D.M.A., chair of Immaculata’s Music Department.

Jacobs Music is a proud supporter of Immaculata University. Immaculata University is a Catholic, comprehensive, coeducational institution of higher education, located on the Main Line between Malvern and Exton, 20 miles west of Philadelphia.
