July 6, 2012 | By Tina Doerr
Manager
Concert Pianist Raffi Besalyan is returning by popular demand to Frank Lloyd Wright’s historic Taliesin Theater located in Spring Green, Wisconsin, for a recital along with violinist Yuri Segawa. The concert, which will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 7:30 p.m., will include works for violin and piano by Stravinsky and Komitas. Raffi will also perform solo piano music by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Satie and Gershwin (Rhapsody in Blue).

You may hear a live interview of Raffi Besalyan on the Wisconsin Public Radio program, “The Midday” with Norman Gilliland on July 13, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. over the internet at www.wpr.org. The interview will be archived for later listening.

Hailed by the CHOPIN magazine of Japan as "[a] true heir of the mainstream of Russian pianism, like Horowitz," Raffi Besalyan has established an international reputation as a magnetic and passionate performer. Active as a recitalist, orchestral soloist, and chamber musician, Besalyan appears in many important music venues worldwide. Critics on both sides of the Atlantic have praised his performances for their virility, poetry and extraordinary technical command.
