Clarinetist Stanley Drucker will be part of the 2010 Buffet Crampon USA Summer Clarinet Academy, from August 2 to 7 at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.
This year's Academy faculty will also feature Ixi Chen (Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra), Dan Gilbert (University of Michigan), Jonathan Gunn (Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra) and Andre Moisan (Montreal Symphony Orchestra). Students selected for the Academy will have a private lesson with each Artist Faculty member and will enjoy masterclasses, clinics and concerts from all five Artists. Attendees will also study woodwind technology with Master Woodwind Technician Francois Kloc.

At the conclusion of the 2008-2009 season, New York Philharmonic Principal Clarinet Stanley Drucker celebrated 60 years as a member of the Orchestra and announced his retirement. In honor of his 50th anniversary, and in recognition of his highly respected and widely acknowledged musical excellence and dedication, he was named Musical America's 1998 Instrumentalist of the Year. He has made approximately 190 solo appearances with the Philharmonic since joining it at age 19. The Philharmonic estimates that he has performed in 10,200 concerts, which is approximately 70% o the total number of their concerts since 1842. He was Principal Clarinetist for a record 48 years, playing under 9 Music Directors, among them Bruno Walter, Dmitri Mitropolous, Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Boulez and Zubin Mehta.
