Antara Ensemble at Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church, NYC
The Antara Ensemble, led by its music director, conductor/flutist Harold Jones, continues its 16th season on Sunday, March 21 at 3 p.m. at Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church, 2065 Fifth Avenue at 127th Street, New York City. The all -Johann Sebastian Bach program willl include "Sleepers Awake" from the Cantata No. 140; the Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 (with soloists Harold Jones and Harold Archer, flutes, and Ashley Horne, violin); the Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 (with soloists Harold Jones, flute; Carlos Baptiste, violin, and Michael Bunchman, piano), and the Double Concerto (with Ashley Horne and Carlos Baptiste, violins). William Foster McDaniel is guest conductor.
The 14-member ANTARA ENSEMBLE was formed by flutist Harold Jones to bring quality classical music to the culturally diverse neighborhoods of New York City. Mr. Jones has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Tully Hall, CAMI Hall and other New York venues, Jordan Hall in Boston, and throughout the U.S., Europe and Taiwan; and has been flute soloist with The Bach Aria Orchestra, American Symphony, New York Sinfonietta, Brooklyn Philharmonia, National Orchestral Association, and other ensembles.
