The St. Thomas Orchestra was co-founded by Bernard Tamosaitis and Peter Arike in 2002. Among its ranks today can be counted a broad spectrum of professionals in the arts, sciences, law, finance, medicine, and business. Members range in age from 15 to 85 and are united by a common commitment to the pursuit of musical excellence. Over the years, they have evolved into a uniquely diverse organization of remarkable depth that performs great symphonic music for their community. Visit them at http://www.storchestra.org/.

At the conclusion of the 2008-2009 season, New York Philharmonic Principal Clarinet Stanley Drucker celebrated 60 years as a member of the Orchestra and announced his retirement. In honor of his 50th anniversary, and in recognition of his highly respected and widely acknowledged musical excellence and dedication, he was named Musical America's 1998 Instrumentalist of the Year. He made approximately 190 solo appearances with the Philharmonic since joining it at age 19. The Philharmonic estimates that he performed in 10,200 concerts, which is approximately 70% of the total number of their concerts since 1842. He was Principal Clarinetist for a record 48 years, playing under 9 Music Directors, among them Bruno Walter, Dmitri Mitropolous, Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Boulez and Zubin Mehta and performed in 60 countries on tour.

Naomi Drucker, co-director of the American Chamber Ensemble, has performed, recorded and toured with the New York Philharmonic. She has performed around the world, and has appeared as soloist with the Nassau Symphony Orchestra, New York Virtuosi, Philharmonia Virtuosi, Massapequa Symphony, Long Island Baroque Ensemble, Long Island Symphony and West Islip Orchestra. She has given performances at the International Clarinet Convention in Paris, Toronto, Pittsburgh and Washington, DC. With her husband Stanley Drucker, she has performed on a tour of eleven cities in Japan, at the East Meets West Music Festival in Sweden, in 1996 at the International Clarinet Congress in Paris and at the Mykonos International Chamber Music Festival. A graduate of Hofstra University where she is an Adjunct Professor of Music, she received the 1994 George M. Estabrook Distinguished Alumni Award for career achievement.
