JYAGP jury members Gailene Stock, Director of the Royal Ballet School; Franco de Vita, Director of the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre; and Adam Sklute, Artistic Director of Ballet West, will offer insight into the selection process as they critique dancers\u2019 performances during an impromptu ballet competition on stage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.joyce.org\/performancestickets\/calendar_detail.php?event=353&amp;theater=1\">Keigwin + Company at The Joyce Theater<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>March 8 &#8211; 13<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The cabaret-oriented, bawdy choreographer Larry Keigwin premieres\u00a0<em>Dark Habits<\/em>, which examines fashion and drama (and of course sex). The score features original music by cellist Chris Lancaster and pianist Jerome Begin as well as familiar rock tunes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.guggenheim.org\/new-york\/education\/works-and-process\/events-schedule?option=com_calendar&amp;task=showevent&amp;mt=1299996000&amp;mh=+%40+7%3A30%26nbsp%3Bpm&amp;aid=3842\">Guggenheim Museum Works + Process: \u201cWatermill Quintet\u2014Robert Wilson Curates New Performances\u201d<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">March 13 and 14<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Robert Wilson will present his newest work in process. Combining dance, performance art, theater, video, and music, Wilson\u2019s piece is created in collaboration with five young emerging directors and choreographers, and the composer Michael Galasso.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span><a href=\"http:\/\/marthagraham.org\/company\/newyork\">Martha Graham Dance Company\u2019s 85th Anniversary Season at the Rose Theater<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">March 15 -20<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">America&#8217;s oldest modern dance company will offer four programs, featuring Graham\u2019s master works, a world premiere by\u00a0Taiwanese choreographer Bulareyaung Pagarlava, a revival of Robert Wilson\u2019s <em>Snow on the Mesa<\/em>, and &#8220;The Political Dance Project,&#8221; a montage of dances by 1930s female choreographers of the political left.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dancetheaterworkshop.org\/trisha_brown\">Trisha Brown Dance Company at Dance Theater Workshop<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Mar 16 &#8211; 19, 22 &#8211; 26<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The company will present four works, including <em>Foray For\u00eat<\/em>, (1990), the last of a series of works created in collaboration with Robert Rauschenberg; and <em>Watermotor<\/em> (1978), Brown\u2019s solo dance that will be performed for the first time by a dancer other than herself.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span><span><a href=\"http:\/\/madmuseum.org\/DO\/Calendar\/201103\/Miro%20Magloire%20Ben%20Munisteri%20and%20Michele%20Wiles.aspx\">Miro Magloire, Ben Munisteri and Michele Wiles at the Museum of Art and Design<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>March 16<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Magloire and Munisteri&#8217; solos for American Ballet Theater principal dancer Michele Wiles will show off her versatility in an intimate, tabula rasa-like gallery space of this new museum. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.guggenheim.org\/new-york\/education\/works-and-process\/events-schedule?option=com_calendar&amp;task=showevent&amp;mt=1300597200&amp;mh=+%40+7%3A30%26nbsp%3Bpm&amp;aid=3844\">Guggenheim Museum Works + Process: \u201cRoyal Danish Ballet\u201d<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">March 21 and 22<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Prior to their American tour in May and June 2011, the\u00a0Royal Danish Ballet dancers will perform excerpts from the repertory. Newly appointed artistic director Nikolaj H\u00fcbbe (a former New York City Ballet principal)\u00a0will discuss his vision for the company with John Meehan, Professor of Dance at Vassar College. Dancers will perform highlights from August Bournonville\u2019s <em>The Jockey Dance<\/em>, <em>La Sylphide<\/em>, <em>A Folk Tale<\/em>, and <em>Bournonville Variations,<\/em> plus Nikolaj H\u00fcbbe\u2019s new staging of <em>Napoli<\/em>, and Jorma Elo\u2019s <em>Lost on Slow<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dradance.org\/dfth2011\/\">\u201cDances From The Heart\u201d at Cedar Lake Theater<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>March 21 and 22<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Now in its sixth year, the event will offer four performances over two days and feature 19 dance companies in benefit of Dancers Responding to AIDS, a program of Broadway Cares\/Equity Fights AIDS.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.juilliard.edu\/newsroom\/releases\/current\/2011-March_Dance.php\">Juilliard School Spring Dance Concert at Peter Jay Sharp Theater<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">March 23-27<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Dance division students will perform Bronislava Nijinska\u2019s masterwork <em>Les Noces<\/em> (1923), Eliot Feld\u2019s <em>Skara Brae<\/em><span> (1986)<\/span> and Mark Morris\u2019s <em>Grand Duo<\/em><span> (1993)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.joyce.org\/performancestickets\/calendar_detail.php?event=355&amp;theater=1\">Merce Cunningham Dance Company at The Joyce Theater<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Mar 22-27<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>Before disbanding in December 2011, the company will present at The Joyce <em>CRWDSPCR<\/em>, <em>Quartet<\/em>, and <em>Antic Meet. <\/em><\/span>This trio of dances has not been seen in New York for decades.\u00a0<span>Performing Cunningham&#8217;s works are the <\/span>final group of dancers he personally trained.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.guggenheim.org\/new-york\/education\/works-and-process\/events-schedule?option=com_calendar&amp;task=showevent&amp;mt=1301202000&amp;mh=+%40+7%3A30%26nbsp%3Bpm&amp;aid=3846\">Guggenheim Museum Works + Process: \u201cCelebrating David Del Tredici\u2014With New Choreography by Lynne Taylor-Corbett\u201d<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">March 27 and 28<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Lynne Taylor-Corbett presents a dance to David Del Tredici\u2019s <em>Grosse Tarantella<\/em>. The Young People\u2019s Chorus of New York City, directed by Francisco J. N\u00fa\u00f1ez, will sing Del Tredici\u2019s <em>Four Heartfelt Anthems<\/em>. A moderated discussion with the composer and choreographer will follow the performance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dancetheaterworkshop.org\/move\">Dance Theater Workshop: Richard Move and MoveOpolis!<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">March 30 \u2013 April 2<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Martha Graham impersonator extraordinaire Richard Move will perform alongside Graham principal dancers in ways that pay homage and poke fun at the first lady of modern dance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.skirballcenter.nyu.edu\/calendar\/cnd2\">Compa\u00f1\u00eda Nacional de Danza at the Skirball Center<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">March 31- April 2<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Madrid-based contemporary ballet company CND2 makes its New York City premiere.
