On March 3rd,\u00a0<strong>New York New Music Ensemble\u00a0<\/strong>fetes English composer\u00a0<strong>Harrison Birtwistle\u00a0<\/strong>with a portrait concert at the\u00a0<strong>DiMenna Center<\/strong>\u00a0(details <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nynme.org\">here<\/a>).\u00a0<strong>Cygnus Ensemble\u00a0<\/strong>and several soloists perform the music of\u00a0<strong>Mario Davidovsky\u00a0<\/strong>on the 4th at\u00a0<strong>Merkin Concert Hall\u00a0<\/strong>(details <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kaufmanmusiccenter.org\/mch\/event\/music-of-mario-davidovsky\">here<\/a>). While Birtwistle is best known for his stage works and Davidovsky is known for his\u00a0<em>Synchronisms,\u00a0<\/em>music for electronic tape and soloists, both have written compelling chamber music and this is what will be the focus of these two events.
