This is a beautiful story, one which touches the soul. It must be a heartwarming feeling to see the rise of many of the artists you have helped in carving their niche and career. I do hope your words ring true with the younger sect of arts managers. True, with technology these days, connecting with the presenters, orchestras, etc, has indeed made life quicker and easier to navigate schedules, contracts etc. Your advice to start out with larger, respected agencies is a good idea. Also, the young managers can gain experience speaking with the administrators and then, when they feel ready to take on their own enterprise, should they have the passion to do so, will know these people and hopefully, they will respond to their calls and emails. For those starting out in the management field, I hope they will read your words and possibly have the good fortune to learn from your life experience!
