Communicating with Your Audience
During Edna’s 23 years as managing director of IMG Artists, she personally looked after the career of violinist, Itzhak Perlman and launched the careers of musicians such as pianists Evgeny Kissin and Lang Lang, violinist Hilary Hahn, and conductors Franz Welser-Mõst and Alan Gilbert.
Edna believes young musicians can grow their own careers, with “hard work, blind faith, passion for the cause, incessant networking and a vision that refuse[s] to be tarnished by naysayers.”

TransAtlantic Ensemble Gives a Free Performance at Steinway Hall, Monday, January 14 at 7:00 PM
TransAtlantic Ensemble brings their unique programming to Steinway Hall in New York City in a free performance on Monday, January 14, 2013, at 7 pm (doors open at 6:30). Steinway Hall is located at 109 West 57th Street in Manhattan. The concert is free and reservations are required. To make a reservation please send an email to evelyn@evelynulex.com with the number of those attending. More information is available on TransAtlantic Ensemble’s website at www.TransAtlanticEnsemble.com. After the one-hour performance, you will have a chance to meet the musicians in an informal reception.
The award-winning Argentine bandeon player and composer JP (Juan Pablo) Jofre joins TransAtlantic Ensemble for this program, which includes his own compositions, as well as music by Jeff Scott, Paquito D'Rivera, Robert Schumann and Rodian Schtschedrin.
This concert celebrates the release of TransAtlantic Ensemble’s debut CD, Crossing America (Eroica JDT 3469). The Ensemble’s dedication to collaborations with living composers is evident in Crossing America with performances of works by Jeff Scott, Paquito D'Rivera, Miguel del Aguila, and Valerie Coleman. Featuring a collection of dynamic, contemporary concert music with streaks of Latin and jazz, Crossing America is sure to attract a diverse range of audiences and listeners.
Mariam Adam, a native of Monterey, California is an internationally distinguished clarinetist and chamber musician. A founding member of the Grammy-nominated woodwind quintet, Imani Winds, she maintains an active international touring schedule performing at venues from Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center to La Villette in Paris.
Evelyn Ulex, a finalist for the Frienna Awerbuch International Piano Competition in New York City, is an established pianist in both the United States and Europe. She performs worldwide as soloist, chamber musician and with orchestras. Among her many performances, she has appeared at New York City's Carnegie Hall, the Library for the Performing Arts, Symphony Space, and Steinway Hall.
