Moab Fest Taps New Exec Director

January 10, 2013
MusicalAmerica.com

The Moab Music Festival, an annual, mostly al fresco chamber-music event  among the red rocks of Moab, Utah, has named an executive director to succeed Andrew Yarosh, who departed after five years at the end of last season.

She is Laura Doser Brown, former executive director of the Lawton (OK) Philharmonic, and a Ph.D. candidate in musicology and criticism at the University of California, Davis. Ms. Brown, a native of Wyoming, plays second oboe in the Grand Junction (CO) Symphony Orchestra and has worked in the areas of marketing, development, and public relations.   In her new job, she will split her time between Grand Junction and Moab, according to publicist Elizabeth Dworkin.

Michael Barrett and Leslie Tomkins are the festival’s founding artistic directors. The 21st season of the event runs Aug. 29 to Sept. 9, 2013.
